Thanks for visiting me at Gemma Clare’s Lifestyle Nutrition. I am so excited to share this journey with you.
I’m a very passionate Nutrition student living in Perth, Australia, with my beautiful Golden Retriever, Loki. There is so much misinformation out there about nutrition, confusing us all! And this misinformation is preventing us from reaching our best quality of life.
My goal is to have you learn as I learn, so we can bust those food myths and give you the real facts that will allow you to move towards a happier and healthier lifestyle. I’m all about the power of nutrition and sharing the evidence-based knowledge that I am learning at University. In this blog I aim to encourage, support and promote a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation, and hopefully can help reduce the burden of diet-related disease in our futures.
Illness through my early teenage years began my journey to health with many doctor visits, specialists and tests frustratingly producing no results. After turning to natural medicine as a last attempt I was diagnosed with Hyperglycemia by a Naturopath. This then spurred a drastic lifestyle change toward good nutrition and being physically active to modulate my blood sugar to a safe and manageable level. This lifestyle shift at a young age inspired my interest into nutrition, as I had seen first hand and understood how a good diet made such a difference to my health.
I have a great love of animals, dogs in particular. My golden retriever Loki is one of the most important things in my life and integral to my physical and mental health. If you don’t find me madly studying or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I am out in the park playing with Loki or training with him for my next running race. I try to keep my fitness regime varied by attending Bootcamp, running, swimming, biking, home workouts, entering Tough Mudder, ROC race, Spartan race, fun runs and small triathlons as I do get bored quite easily.
For my blog I’ve been lucky enough to win the Positive Lending Solutions Young Entrepreneur of the year Award in 2016 and was also nominated for 2 Western Australian Young Achiever Awards in 2017.
I have some amazing things planned for the future with my blog and career as a Nutritionist so please follow me on my journey, give me your feedback and watch this space!
Love Gemma and Loki xox
